BARTLETT LOFT TOWNS CONDOS FOR SALE

The Bartlett Loft Towns were one of the first true loft conversions in the city, but today they read  anything but amateurish. Rather, the lofts at 6 Bartlett Avenue defined originality and innovation before Toronto  knew the protocol for a successful hard drive. loft conversion. Thanks to developer Allan D. Gordon Associates and his innovative foresight,  Bartlett Loft Towns serves as inspiration to reimagine vanished spaces with so much hidden potential. Developer's triumph with  Bartlett Loft Towns was even recognized by the province as it was honored with an Ontario Renew Award in 1985. The project made a lasting impression on the Toronto real estate market as  loft conversions are now the most desirable type of condominium in the city. Prior to its conversion into thirteen highly desirable Toronto lofts, the building was used for a variety of industrial purposes, including yarn manufacturing, auto repair and fishing tackle manufacturing. The building dates from at least 1947, as an aerial map of Toronto taken  that year courtesy of the Toronto Archives shows building 6 Bartlett Avenue. , there is some difficulty  in locating the exact date the building was constructed, as no aerial photographs of Bartlett Avenue exist in the archives prior to 1947. A cursory glance at the building's exterior architectural style suggests that it was constructed sometime in the mid-20th century. , when minimalism and concrete were in fashion. However, after flipping through Goad's Atlas of Toronto (via the Recursion blog), we discovered a map that gives a good estimate of when Bartlett Lofts was built. 6 Bartlett and 8 Bartlett seem to suddenly appear on the map after 1910 and 1910 before 1903. The 1910 map even gives some indication of the original structure. Incredibly, 6 Bartlett was built out of wood over a century ago.
