HST New Housing Rebate

The HST New Housing Rebate program allows you to claim a rebate on the part of the HST you pay on the purchase price of a newly constructed home or the cost of building the house.

You can claim the HST New Housing Rebate on a newly renovated home, a purchase of a new mobile home, or when you rebuild your home after it has been destroyed in a fire.

The purchase price of resale homes is exempted from the HST, whereas the purchase price of newly constructed homes is subject to HST. New Home Buyers can apply for a 36% rebate on the federal portion of the HST of the purchase price to a maximum of $6,300 for homes costing $350,000 or less. The New Housing Rebate will be reduced proportionately for new homes priced at $350,000 to $450,000. Homes priced over $450,000 would not receive a rebate on the federal portion of the HST. For the provincial portion of the HST, new home buyers can apply for a 75% rebate applicable to the purchase price to a maximum of $24,000.

I had the pleasure of working with Leila from the Toronto Condo Team and she showed true dedication in helping me find my next rental in downtown Toronto. From streamlining all the paperwork, prompt responses/follow-ups, tailored showings and just the genuineness in her work, it was truly a breeze! It took one round of viewings to find my place and I really appreciated all the help she provided along the way in doing what needed to be done to get my pick. Thanks Leila :)

Franco and the Toronto Condo Team provided us with an excellent experience in selling our home quickly! We were astounded by his knowledge of the market, and he gave us all of the resources we needed to make sure that our house was ready for sale. Additionally, their staging team did a phenomenal job – it looked as though it was a completely different space when I saw it again after they had finished! Highly recommend them - you won't be disappointed!

Franco and Leila did a phenomenal job selling our home in this time of uncertainty. They are a very professional team, and during our first interaction they prepared an initial presentation that was impressive and compelling, taking the the time to prepare detailed pamphlets highlighting where our home compared to others sold. They gave my wife and I the confidence that they could sell the home at a listing price that was a record high for the type of home on my street. We knew the job was going to be difficult due to a poorly staged and marketed house next to us that sold just weeks ago, where the buyers were in a rush to sell and eventually sold what we felt was under market value. They provided 'white glove' service in marketing the home with a 3D virtual tour, along with cost competitive staging and brilliant photos prior to the house going on the market. Through their marketing efforts, we were able to have over 50 showings in the first week of the house being on the market. The Toronto Condo team negotiated with several interested buyers, and we received multiple firm offers, with the highest being virtually the same as our listing price. We are incredibly happy with the result, and during an uncertain time in selling your home right now, if you are looking for highly competent, professional and transparent realtors, I highly recommend Franco and Leila from Toronto Condo Team.

Leila and Franco from the Toronto Condo Team were absolutely phenomenal with overseeing all aspects of the sale of our Toronto based condo. The team's utmost professionalism, industry knowledge, strategic planning around all aspects of the sale and educating us on all of our options each step of the way made this experience impeccable. Leila always went the extra mile to thoughtfully explain all of the components of the sale. She is extremely knowledgeable of the real estate market and highlighting the pros and cons of each option regarding the sale so that we felt very well-informed each step of the way. Thank you to this team for providing such stellar service; a rarity in the real estate industry these days! We had such a great experience that we are already thinking of a possible next purchase and would not be using anyone other than the Toronto Condo Team!
